40 Year Celebration of Avebury as a WHS

In 2026 Avebury will celebrate being a UNESCO WHS for 40 years. To mark this momentious occasion there will be a range of interesting activities from a talk in The Social Centre at 11:30am, exhibitions at Unhenged and a BYO picnic lunch in a marquee on the cricket pitch .

About the event
In 2026 Avebury will celebrate being a UNESCO WHS for 40 years. To mark this momentious occasion there will be a range of interesting activities from an archeological talk by Professor Josh Pollard & Mike Parker Pearson in The Social Centre at 11:30am, exhibitions at both The Social Centre & Unhenged and a BYO picnic lunch in a lovely marquee looking across the cricket pitch.
